Nearly nine and a half years after construction started it’s now time: The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg will celebrate the Grand Opening of this one of a kind Concert Hall with a Fixed Three-Week Program of Events, starting on the 11 January, 2017. Centered at the gate to the world, this imposing glass building will become the architectural and cultural icon of the North German Metropolis. Starting January 4, 2016, the new Westin Hamburg will open under the leadership of Dagmar Zechmann, where it will be integrated within the Elbphilharmonie, offering an inspirational view of the Harbour and the buildings of the Metropolis. The Westin Hamburg – Located Above the Gate to the World
Already the arrival at the Westin Hamburg is a fascinating spectacle: The Plaza, which is located 37 meters above the ground, is reachable for guests via its own entrance or by using Europe’s longest escalator. Once you reach the top, you’ll be witness to a wonderful sight reaching from the historic Kaispeicher (a historic warehouse) to the modern glass building with Concert Halls and Hotel. The Ambience is complete with the historic Kaispeicher. The windows in the Restaurant are reminiscent of portholes found in ships, serving as a strong contrast to the expansive views found in the lobby and in hotel rooms. After a splendid meal, hotel guests can amuse themselves in the Bar and enjoy a fine selection of drinks.
